You can browse the general content of the Diverse WA website (https://portal.omi.wa.gov.au/diversewa/) anonymously, without disclosing your personal information. However, to access the training program and full functionality of the training modules on this website you are required to provide personal information. Examples of this include where you work, cultural background (ancestry) or when making an enquiry. We only collect personal information through the Diverse WA website (https://portal.omi.wa.gov.au/diversewa/) when it is knowingly and voluntarily provided by you.
Use and disclosure of personal information
Any personal information we collect through the Diverse WA website (https://portal.omi.wa.gov.au/diversewa/) such as your name, email address, country of birth, cultural background (ancestry), language(s) spoken at home and work status may be used for the primary purpose for which it was collected, that is, to register for access to the Diverse WA training modules and associated content. This information is also used by OMI to monitor and evaluate user uptake and completion of the Diverse WA training program. Individual agencies can request access to their workforce data for reporting purposes, including employee completion statistics. Authorised agency users accessing reporting data agree to abide by these privacy terms and treat employee personal data and training information as confidential and used for the purposes of workforce learning and development only. The data provided should not be shared or used for any other purpose.
In some limited circumstances we may also need to use or disclose personal information for other specific purposes, including where the Western Australian Government reasonably determines that the use or disclosure of the information is necessary for one or more enforcement-related activities conducted by or on behalf of an enforcement body, and where required by or under a law of Western Australia; a law of the Commonwealth; or a court or tribunal order, for example pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 1992; or in response to a subpoena.
Personal information will be dealt with in accordance with the applicable legislation in Western Australia and consistent with any legal obligation.
